Every third weekend duty is required. Call duty is necessary with a minimum of six on-call days in a six-week period. All candidates must be comfortable floating within the facility. Candidates are expected to float without restrictions or special requests as long as it is within their experience scope. Return travelers must be away for at least six months before reapplying. This position requires a commitment to complete orientation, which consists of 24 hours. References are mandatory and should meet established standards. The candidate's permanent residence must be located more than 50 miles from the hiring facility. RTO (Requests for Time Off) must be included at the time of initial submission and cannot exceed seven days. If RTO exceeds four consecutive days, an additional week will be added to the end of the contract. Candidates wishing to take a major holiday off during the winter season must refer to the job posting for specifics. Extensions are typically allowed, but a six-month break is required after one contract and extension before returning. CPI certification is typically required for most units. The online version of "The Calm Every Storm" is the currently accepted vendor for this certification. Candidates must also complete required labs within 72 hours of signing their contract.
