This position will report to the Operations Superintendent WA RE and will work in a hands-on capacity leading small, multi-skilled team responsible for power station operation and maintenance Key Responsibilities Safety Live the EDL SPIRIT values Drive safety leadership through setting clear expectations for measurable safety behaviours Actively ensure own health and safety and the health and safety of others through understanding of workplace health and safety obligations, policies, and procedures Maintain a culture of reporting and continuous improvement of risk management tools used on site Demonstrate visible safety leadership by conducting safety verifications on-site, facilitating safety conversations and sharing safety learnings from customers and suppliers People and customers Support of multi-skilled Operator/Maintainers involved in all aspects of maintaining the power plant across EDL’s WA/SA Remote Energy team Ensure operations team members have the correct and up to date VOC’s to complete the assigned tasks Review with the team the SWI’s and JSEA’s Assist in outage investigations Production and planning Manage site maintenance in line with company policies and procedures Utilisation of EDL’s maintenance management system as part of daily function Ensure housekeeping are to the EDL standard Profitable Operation of the site to optimise maintenance schedules to align with site requirements Maintain and control inventory in line with company policies and procedures Ensure goods receipting process is completed in a timely manner Work with Regional Supervisor to develop improvements in operations General Support and comply with Company policies and procedures as advised and documented in the Company’s employment policies as amended from time to time and as directed by Managers In addition to the duties set out above, the Field Operations Leading Hand may be from time to time be requested to complete other duties appropriate to the level and responsibility of the position as required. Person Specification Proven time management, prioritisation, and organisational skills Ability to lead and motivate others Effective communication skills, both written and oral Initiative, enthusiasm, and commitment Motivated, resilient, and flexible, enjoys the challenge of working in a dynamic team environment Desire to learn and to train others Enjoys the challenge of working in a dynamic team environment Dedicated to the achievement of excellent working standards Ability to Travel Qualifications and Experience Mechanical or Electrical trade or certificate qualifications or suitable operations background is essential Sound understanding of health and safety, environmental and industrial relations requirements Previous supervisory experience and/or supervisory/management style training Experience and understanding of Power Generation Ability to operate/interrogate HMI interfaces with power station systems Experience in the following will also be an advantage: Experience with multiple engine types and their controls systems, SCADA, SCI-TEC Licensed to work on HV electrical distribution systems Experience with PLC programming, electronics, and control systems Job Environment The purpose of the position is to provide field leadership for the maintenance operational requirements for Remote Energy’s WA and SA Power Stations. Maintaining the safe, reliable operation of the facilities, to provide support to the site operators as well as manage small projects within the RE Portfolio. The role will involve travel between sites across the WA RE portfolio working with various site and engine configurations. Successful applicants will be required to undergo background screening prior to commencement with EDL.
