Job Description
Sarina State High School is looking for a passionate Head of Department (Secondary) to join our Senior Leadership Team. The successful applicant needs to demonstrate curriculum leadership across a range of learning areas. This is a temporary full-time position commencing 22 April 2025 to 27 June 2025, unless otherwise determined. This temporary vacancy is open to Expressions of Interest and any extensions to this appointment will not exceed 12 months. About Us: Sarina State High School is a regional school of approximately 850 students. The school is situated close to beautiful beaches, rainforest and is a short 25 minute drive to the city of Mackay. Our school emphasises a culture of high expectations. We are dedicated to ensuring that every student will exit our school with the learning, training and qualifications to enter a pathway suited to their needs and aspirations. We value the contribution of every staff member in our team and we are committed to the well-being of staff and students in our school community About the Role: Responsibilities include, but not limited to; Actively participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development. Form partnerships with students, parents, other government agencies, and community groups. Be futures oriented and strategic. Understand the legislation and policies that impact on schooling especially in relation to students and staff within the school department. Manage the human, financial, facilities and curriculum resources of the school department to achieve goals.
