This role is suited to someone who enjoys a fast-paced, target driven workplace where no two days are the same. About the Role As an Employment Consultant, your role is to help people requiring Disability Employment Services (DES) find ongoing and meaningful employment. You will be provided with a comprehensive induction and training program to help you in this role. In an average week you will: Work with jobseekers to uncover their interests, passions and skills. Help them build their confidence and undertake additional training to become job ready to apply for suitable roles. Provide post-placement support to jobseekers who have found employment, providing support mechanisms to ensure they thrive in the workplace. Develop relationships with local businesses and organisations. Approach local employers on behalf of jobseekers; confidence in proactively promoting our organisation and our jobseekers is key. Ensure that all jobseekers paperwork is completed, 30% of the role is administration. Feel the thrill of helping someone find an employment opportunity that will change their life. You will receive full training to help you gain all the knowledge and skills required to become an Employment Consultant, however, there are a few skills that great Employment Consultant's possess: They are engaging and a people-person, keen to learn more about others and have a knack for making others feel comfortable in their presence. They are resilient, things don’t always go to plan – when this happens, they are able to put challenges aside and keep moving forward. They are confident and happy to go out and meet with employers to advocate for jobseekers. They understand performance framework – this role has targets that must be met and hopefully exceeded. They have solid administration skills, computer literacy and strong attention to detail. They’re innovative and will engage with local employers, creating job opportunities that may not have otherwise existed. They have great customer service skills and a motivating personality to inspire participants to find work. They’re a team player. Yes, you’ve got your own targets, however, successful employment consultants look out for one another, they share ideas and understand that the end goal is to find employment for all jobseekers.
