About the Role:Reporting into the Superintendent ‑ Procurement & Warehouse the successful candidate will ensure the movement of materials and supplies at site are received, issued, stored and accounted for in a safe, timely and consistent manner that ensures compliance with Talison Standards and established policies and procedures.Under the direction of the Superintendent ‑ Procurement & Warehouse, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operational performance of the warehouse reported through the measurement of supply chain service levels and performance measurement criteria designed with an overall focus to reduce risk, improve customer service levels, optimise inventory levels, enhance efficiencies and improve inventory availability and forecasting accuracy.Please note that this role is offered on a maximum term basis. Responsibilities include: promote and maintain a safe system of work and a safe workplace for all site Warehouse employees; coordinate daily and monthly safety/pre-start meetings, monthly safety meetings and conduct weekly work place safety inspections; develop effective day-to-day management of the warehouse and team; ensure accuracy and timeliness of warehouse transaction postings; accountability for the quality of work output from Warehouse activities through ongoing monitoring and audits; conducting formal career development discussions with employees and identify development opportunities and programs that assist with defining future career progression possibilities; About the Candidate:The following qualification/s and competencies are considered desirable for this position: Certificate in Applied Purchasing or Materials Management; Certificate in Warehouse Management; High-risk Forklift Licence; Year 10-12 Maths and English; current ‘C’ class drivers licence; and Apply First Aid certificate. The incumbent should have the following skills and/or experience: 3-5 years of experience in a similar role, handling warehouse tasks like receiving, storing, cycle counting, logistics and distribution of materials; demonstrated experience managing warehouse stock levels, including handling dangerous goods and hazardous chemicals according to safe procedures; proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS) for tasks like inventory tracking, receiving goods, and optimising storage across multiple storage locations excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build strong relationships with team members, colleagues, suppliers, peers and other departments; strong leadership skills with the ability to empower and delegate tasks to ensure project success; Some of the many benefits of working with Talison include: flexible working environment; be home every night with a family and lifestyle friendly roster; income protection insurance; life Insurance for company superannuation employees; competitive parental leave policy; salary sacrifice options for remote area housing, motor vehicles and superannuation; and participation in site performance-based incentive scheme.
