About the opportunity: Position: Nurse Unit Manager (Townsville Public Health Unit) Vacancy: Temporary Full-time (19.05.2025 - 30.10.2025) with the possibility of an extension up to 12 months Location: Townsville Public Health Unit / Corporate Service Group / Townsville University Hospital The Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) will facilitate and provide nursing leadership, support and mentoring within the Townsville Public Health Unit (TPHU). The role provides nursing resource, education and research accountabilities, and strategic management to support the TPHU. The Townsville Public Health Unit focuses on promoting health and wellbeing at a population level. Your contributions will be valued and impactful. Requirements: Mandatory qualifications and proof of registration (if applicable): Nursing: Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and possession of a current practising certificate. Mandatory: Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent is a mandatory qualification for this position. Highly Desirable: Possession of a relevant postgraduate qualification in an appropriate field is highly desirable. On call: Appointees may be required to participate in an on-call roster. Drivers Licence: This position requires the incumbent to operate a class C motor vehicle and an appropriate license endorsement to operate this vehicle is required. This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role. Hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Tuberculosis. Probation period may apply.
