Recruitment / Administration role Attractive remuneration Based in the tropical tranquillity of Broome WA Flexible working arrangements averaging (38) hours per week available The Paspaley Pearls Group (PPG) was founded in 1952 and is a family-owned group of companies. Paspaley’s core business is in pearling, including pearl production, wholesale, and retail, but the Group also has extensive interests in other sectors including ship repair and engineering, commercial property investment, aviation, mixed agriculture, hospitality and accommodation, viticulture and wine making. Paspaley Pearling Company are currently looking for a full-time Recruitment/Administration Officer to join our HR team and work for the Pearling Production operations. This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly dedicated, reliable and self-motivated individual. The role is based in our Broome office and the ideal candidate is someone with strong administration skills with an interest in pursuing a career in recruitment and HR. Key duties and responsibilities: Assist the pearling recruitment team with the end-to-end recruitment process for pearl farm and fleet applications, including onboarding, inductions, phone screening, face to face interview, reference checking, collecting employment documents and managing candidate qualifications. Organise and schedule pre-employment medicals included drug & alcohol testing with Paspaley service providers as required. Verify visa details and work rights (VEVO Check) for international employees. Liaise with management and assist with workforce planning, rostering and logistics to ensure staffing levels are maintained for Pearling Production operations in Broome. Conduct follow ups and debriefs with new employees. General administration and other ad hoc duties as required. What you need to succeed: A positive can-do attitude with excellent communication skills and phone manner. Strong computer skills with the ability to learn and adapt to new databases. Have excellent attention to detail., be highly organised and have the ability to time manage. Must a current Australian drivers licence. Must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident with full work rights. It is essential that the successful applicant understands the nuances around confidentiality and the need to adhere to absolute discretion in respect of all Paspaley matters and in the handling of personal and employment information. The successful candidate will also need to be fantastically organised, able to multi-task, work autonomously, prioritise work, take initiative, demonstrate flexibility and work accurately under pressure whilst adhering to deadlines. Although not essential, as this role is supported by the Group HR function, experience in administrative roles and previous knowledge and understanding of the recruitment process would be considered favourable. As well as the above, we want someone with a sense of humour who is self-aware and tuned in to situations around them, and can communicate any issues, discrepancies and red flags that may arise to various stakeholders in the business.
