About the role: We have an exciting opportunity for a project-driven individual to develop and coordinate the delivery of waste education and behavioural change activities for communities to support landfill diversion efforts. As a representative of the Resource Recovery Working Group, you'll collaborate with councils and key stakeholders across the Wide Bay Burnett region to deliver state-funded community-focused programs in line with regional waste management plans and Queensland’s waste targets. This role is perfect for someone passionate about community engagement and education, aiming to make a significant impact on waste reduction and sustainability! Key Responsibilities: Contribute as a key stakeholder to the development and review of the Wide Bay Burnett Council’s waste management strategies, objectives and processes in relation to education and behaviour change Develop of forward schedule of Education and Behaviour Change activities and reporting requirements Consult relevant internal and external stakeholders to understand ongoing needs for participation in waste education and behaviour change programs Identify, develop, coordinate and deliver appropriate marketing campaigns, events, and competitions, including resourcing and cost management – may be outside normal working hours. Manage projects relevant to education and behaviour change including scoping, scheduling, and monitoring budgets and resources. Please click here to view a full Position Description. To be successful, you’ll need: Demonstrated experience in delivering best practice teaching methodologies and standards that effectively influence behaviour. Ability to partner with a range of stakeholders with an emphasis on communication, negotiation, motivation and behaviour transformation. Demonstrated high level of organisation and analytical skills including the ability to develop and implement programs, report on project viability and to effectively plan and deliver projects. Demonstrated capacity to collaborate, work in a team environment, provide support, flexible in approach and foster cooperation from a wide range of stakeholders. Highly developed computer skills, including experience in the use of Microsoft Office, digital communication tools and presentation software. Qualifications & Licences: Tertiary qualification (AQF Level 7 or above) in a discipline relevant to the position such as waste management, sustainability, education, or related discipline; and/or demonstrated experience relevant to the role’s responsibilities and key performance areas. Current Working with Children Blue Card or ability to obtain. Current QLD Class C Driver's Licence.
