Materials Manager

Company: Joyson Safety Systems Industry: Automotive Job Description: The Materials Planning Manager is responsible for directing activities to ensure the timely supply of materials for production through effective planning and control. The role ensures on-time delivery of finished products to customers while optimizing operational costs. Reports to: [Specify reporting line] Personnel in Charge: Materials Supervisor Materials Superintendent Backup Position: A qualified individual must be available across all shifts to cover in case of absence. Key Responsibilities: Ensure compliance with customer requirements, corrective actions, and quality standards. Establish safety as a priority in all assigned functions. Supervise and train personnel to guarantee compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards. Coordinate internal (production planning) and external (raw materials supply) activities to meet customer requirements. Approve components for production while monitoring inventory levels to align with financial objectives. Analyze material and production capacity studies for future customer demands. Manage urgent material supply situations as required. Lead and support quality and environmental management initiatives. Oversee supplier compliance and inventory optimization to minimize obsolescence during engineering changes. Participate in annual plant inventory processes and ensure proper recordkeeping of material flow. Drive continuous improvement and corrective actions based on internal and external audits. Ensure compliance with IATF 16949 and customer-specific requirements. Requirements: Education: Engineering degree or related field. Languages: Advanced English (mandatory). Experience: Preferably in Materials Planning, Supply Chain, or Quality Engineering. Technical Knowledge: Inventory Planning & Control Systems Warehouse Management & Logistics Core Quality Tools ( GD&T, SPC, Control Plan, FMEA ) ERP/MRP systems ( AS400, SAP, or similar ) Customer Manual Interpretation Root Cause Analysis & Continuous Improvement Skills & Competencies: Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Leadership and team management. Data-driven decision-making and reporting. Ethics & Compliance Responsibilities: Complete compliance training and adhere to company policies. Utilize the company’s "Raise Your Voice" reporting channels to address compliance concerns.
