Data Architect/Manager - Python/Apache Spark

Job Title: Data Architect Leader / Engineering Manager (Data) Experience : 8 Years Industry : B2B SaaS Education: Bachelor's/Masters from IIT (Indian Institutes of Technology) Role Overview Were seeking a hands-on, visionary Data Architect Leader / Engineering Manager with a strong foundation in data engineering , architecture , and platform scalability. This role is ideal for someone who has successfully led high-performing data teams in B2B SaaS environments and is passionate about building robust, scalable data infrastructure. Key Responsibilities - Architect & Design scalable data infrastructure and pipelines to support real-time and batch data processing. - Lead and Manage a team of data engineers, guiding them in development, quality assurance, and architectural decisions. - Collaborate cross-functionally with product, analytics, and engineering teams to deliver data-driven solutions. - Own the data platform roadmap, aligning with company goals and ensuring high system availability, scalability, and security. - Implement best practices in data modeling, data governance, and ETL/ELT processes. - Guide the transition from legacy systems to modern, cloud-native data stacks (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks). - Define and implement data quality, observability, and compliance frameworks. - Recruit, mentor, and retain top engineering talent with a strong data focus. Requirements : Education : - B.Tech / M.Tech in Computer Science or related field from IIT or an equivalent Tier-1 institution. Experience : - 10 years in data engineering/architecture , with 2 years in leadership roles . - Proven experience in B2B SaaS product companies , ideally working on enterprise-scale data systems. - Deep understanding of modern data architecture patterns: data lakes, data warehouses , data mesh, etc. - Proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and tools like Airflow, Kafka, Spark, DBT, Strong software engineering fundamentals and coding skills (Python, Scala, SQL). - Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a track record of managing high-performance teams. - Experience in building internal data platforms to support analytics, product features, and ML initiatives is a plus.
