Job Description Job Description Job Title: Hardscape Foreman Position Overview: The Hardscape Foreman is responsible for leading and managing hardscape construction projects, such as patios, walkways, retaining walls, and other outdoor features crafted from stone, pavers, or concrete. This role requires a skilled professional to supervise a crew, ensure high-quality execution, maintain safety standards, and deliver projects on time while exceeding client expectations. Primary Responsibilities: - Project Oversight: Plan, coordinate, and manage hardscape projects, ensuring alignment with design specifications, budgets, and schedules. - Team Supervision: Lead and mentor a crew of laborers and skilled workers, delegating tasks, providing training, and fostering a collaborative and productive work environment. - Construction Execution: Oversee all aspects of hardscape installation, including site preparation, grading, base installation, and precise placement of materials like pavers, stone, or concrete. - Quality Assurance: Conduct regular inspections to ensure work meets industry standards, project requirements, and client expectations, addressing any discrepancies promptly. - Resource Management: Manage tools, equipment, and materials, ensuring proper use, maintenance, and inventory control to support efficient operations. - Client Engagement: Communicate professionally with clients, architects, or project managers to provide progress updates, address concerns, and ensure satisfaction. - Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate documentation of project progress, labor hours, material usage, and any challenges encountered, reporting to management as required. Qualifications: - Experience: Minimum of 5-10 years in hardscape or masonry construction, with 1-2 years in a supervisory or leadership role. - Technical Expertise: Proficient in hardscape installation techniques, blueprint interpretation, and operation of equipment such as compactors, masonry saws, and skid steers. - Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team, with strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities. - Physical Requirements: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy materials and working in various weather conditions. - Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective coordination with crew, clients, and management.
