Head of Data Engineering | Retail & Homeware Sector | London Hybrid | Up to £120k An exciting opportunity has opened for a Head of Data Engineering to join a leading name in the retail and homeware sector. This is a fantastic chance to lead, shape, and scale a modern data function within a customer-centric, digitally evolving business. You’ll take ownership of their cloud-based data platform (Azure), lead a talented team of Data Engineers and BI Developers, and drive forward their data strategy — ensuring data is at the heart of business decisions and innovation. What you’ll be doing: Leading and growing a high-performing data engineering team. Setting the technical vision for scalable, secure, and reliable data systems. Building and optimising modern data lakes, warehouses, and real-time pipelines. Driving the adoption of best practices around CI/CD, governance, quality, and automation. Working closely with Product, Technology, and Business teams to deliver impactful data solutions. Playing a key role in Agile delivery processes. What we’re looking for: Strong leadership experience within data engineering or platform teams. Deep technical expertise in Azure (Data Lake, Synapse), SQL, and Python. A background in building scalable, cloud-native data solutions. Solid knowledge of data warehouse methodologies (Kimball, Data Vault) and governance best practices. A collaborative, innovative mindset — passionate about learning and development.
