Maintenance Assistant

We require a full time (39 hours - 9am until 6pm Monday to Thursday, 9am until 5pm Friday) Maintenance Assistant to join our team at Bury. We are looking for someone with problem-solving skills and the desire and ambition to undergo further training within a maintenance. You will be trained and mentored to develop your knowledge of our specific systems and processes and quickly build an understanding of our specific requirements. Duties and Responsibilities : Always maintain a safe working environment. Support the production and warehouse teams with break downs. To maintain the facility and plant as scheduled. To maintain good administration practice, including using company specific ERPs and computer systems. Carry out PAT testing. Maintain stock levels of critical parts for the plant Shadow the Maintenance Engineers to learn the processes and procedures We require someone with the following skills and experience: Current FLT licence is required however training is available. Good communication skills and the ability to prioritise and manage time efficiently. A tenacious attitude to problem solving and to pro-actively deal with issues on own initiative. Technical knowledge, ideally studying towards or looking to study towards a Level 2 qualification. Exceptional attention to detail. Good IT skills. General interest and understanding of electrical and mechanical workings. Behavioural Competencies: Calm, approachable, personable, punctual, and operates with a professional manner. Solution focused approach to confidently resolve queries and problems. Ability to be flexible and understanding. Show courtesy, consideration, and respect to all colleagues across the team. The ability to stand for long periods of time Some heavy lifting is required.
