Job Description
This is a long term contract. Reporting jointly to the project sponsors, the Project Director will serve as a key leader responsible for providing oversight and direction to a major system implementation initiative. This role involves driving both process modernization and the deployment of new technology solutions. Working closely with the project's steering committee and both finance and technical workstream leads, the Project Director will ensure timely delivery of strategic goals and key outcomes.Project GovernanceSupport and champion the project's governance framework.Ensure project execution complies with organizational policies, procedures, and compliance standards.Facilitate and participate in executive and project-level steering committee meetings.Serve as a decision-maker and escalation point as defined in the project's governance structure.Maintain ongoing communication with stakeholders to ensure alignment and transparency.Strategy, Planning & ExecutionAct as the main liaison between project leads, stakeholders, and the broader organizational community.Develop strategies, roadmaps, timelines, and deliverables to meet project goals.Oversee and manage all project activities and documentation.Provide leadership and guidance to the core and extended project team.Lead reviews with sponsors and stakeholders to identify evolving needs and adapt project plans accordingly.Coordinate with other project managers to align schedules, dependencies, and shared challenges.Manage resource planning, budgeting, and financial tracking.Liaise with internal departments such as procurement, legal, and finance to support workstream activities.Change and Relationship ManagementFacilitate stakeholder engagement and readiness for new systems and processes.Promote the project's value to key stakeholders and users.Guide and monitor change management efforts.Represent the project at roadshows, information sessions, and other engagement forums.Cultivate and maintain strong relationships across the organization to manage expectations.Vendor ManagementOversee vendor deliverables and contractual commitments.Act as the primary point of contact for vendor interactions.Ensure vendor meetings align with governance and compliance expectations.Address and resolve vendor-related issues.EducationA four-year degree in business, computing, or a related discipline.Additional training or certification in project management, business analysis, or information management.Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and a recognized accounting designation are preferred.ExperienceSignificant experience with financial systems implementation.At least 10 years of project management experience, particularly in ERP or enterprise-level initiatives.Experience with agile methodologies and backlog planning.Strong background in leading cross-functional teams and managing vendors.Demonstrated success in stakeholder engagement and organizational collaboration.Experience understanding Finance and Accounting processesSkillsStrong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead diverse teams and engage senior leadership.Excellent written and verbal communication, including executive-level reporting and presentations.Proficiency in facilitating meetings, negotiations, and managing stakeholder expectations.Experience using project/work management software such as Microsoft Azure DevOps or similar tools.Robert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
