Civil Construction Workers – Roads & Drainage Temporary until October 2026 Location – Proserpine $66,472 - $67,292 per annum The Whitsunday Regional Council is situated at the heart of the Great Barrier Reef. Your Opportunity An exciting opportunity exists within our Infrastructure Services directorate for a Civil Construction Worker. In this role, you will be responsible for providing labouring duties associated with roads and drainage maintenance and construction in the Whitsunday region. Our offer to you: Work life balance with a 9 day fortnight Save more with our salary sacrifice scheme Locality Allowance Health and Wellbeing Benefits Key Responsibilities: Operate plant and trucks in accordance with manufacturer requirements and Workplace Health and Safety legislation Identify plant or truck defects and complete defect identification forms accurately Work effectively and productively with limited supervision Carry out general labouring duties, including vegetation control, road maintenance and construction drainage activities, concrete works, and small plant operation Implement traffic management requirements (including traffic guidance schemes and traffic management plans) Your skills and experience Essential Class MR or HR/HC Driver’s licence (or willingness to obtain immediately after appointment) General Construction Safety Induction (White card) Traffic Control (or willingness to obtain) Traffic Management Implementation (or willingness to obtain) Agriculture Chemical Distribution and Control (or willingness to obtain) Provide First aid (or willingness to obtain) Current CPR Desirable High Risk licence Forklift Operational Competency in Plant Operation for Roller, Backhoe, Grader, Bobcat (Skid Steer).
