For more information, please visit our website: https://student-horizons.com/ About the Opportunity Student Horizons is looking for a full-time Junior to Mid-Level Software Developer based in Sunshine Coast, QLD . In this newly created role, you’ll work closely with the original developer of our internal software, taking the lead on migrating and modernising our existing platform. You'll have the opportunity to make the role your own, bring your ideas to the table, and play a pivotal part in shaping the digital future of our company. More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to: Migrate & Modernise: Upgrade our existing ASP.NET 4.5 MVC application to .NET 8 and React. Develop & Maintain: Build user-friendly front-end interfaces using React, Next.js, TypeScript, MUI, and React-Redux. Back-End Development: Create and optimise APIs and services using .NET 8, ASP.NET Core, and Entity Framework. Authentication & Security: Implement ASP.NET Identity Core with claims-based authentication. Cloud & Deployment: Work with Azure for web hosting, storage, and other cloud services. Database Management: Design and optimise SQL queries and schemas for performance and scalability. Automation & CI/CD: Set up CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions for automated testing and seamless deployments. Problem-Solving: Troubleshoot and resolve issues in both development and production environments. Please note: This is a fully in-office role based in our Sunshine Coast headquarters. Initially a full-time, 3-month contract, the role is expected to transition to a part-time position depending on business needs and project progression. About You To qualify, you will need a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field . Candidates working towards relevant qualifications or holding a diploma with solid practical experience are also encouraged to apply. A minimum of 1–2 years experience in a software development or IT support role will be highly regarded, but graduates with relevant portfolio projects are welcome to apply. Additionally, the following technical skills and experience will be highly valued: Strong experience with .NET 8, ASP.NET Core, and Entity Framework . Proficiency in React, Next.js, TypeScript, and JavaScript . Familiarity with MUI and React-Redux for UI development. Experience with Azure cloud services and GitHub Actions for CI/CD . Solid SQL database skills and an understanding of authentication systems .
