Retail Shop Assistant / Warehouse Assistant

Warehouse Plus, located in Berri right in the heart of South Australia's Riverland, is a locally owned, wholesale and retail business catering to the needs of Government, Health, Retail and Hospitality businesses throughout the region, as well as the general public, with an extensive range of packaging, catering and cleaning products. The position of Retail Shop Assistant / Warehouse Assistant will initially be a Permanent Part Time position located within our Berri premises. You will be rostered a minimum of 30 hours a week with the possibility that hours can increase as your experience and product knowledge grows. The position involves direct sales to both the public and our commercial customers from within our retail premises. Duties will include, but are not limited to:- Retail Sales Contacting business customers for orders Selecting stock for delivery Generating customer invoices Warehousing new stock arrivals and Preparing supplier orders Customer deliveries will be required on occasions, in our manual transmission company van The successful applicant will be:- A no nonsense self-motivated kind of person Good at communicating Willing to learn an extensive product range Equally content working alone, and as a part of a small team, and on occasion, working closely with the Manager and Pretty strong, fit and agile due to the nature of goods sold Desirable Talents:- Previous retail or customer service experience Competence on a keyboard and experience with Outlook and Excel would be beneficial Great organizational skills An ability to adapt to multiple tasks An eye for detail would be seen as an advantage A great phone manner and a cheerful disposition would be very welcome A manual driver’s license is essential, and a forklift license would be beneficial Remuneration will be negotiated subject to hours worked and level of experience and there may be some flexibility to choose your rostered hours to suit your personal needs.
