Primary objective Under the direction of the Food Services Manager/Head Chef, participate as a member of the catering team in the efficient delivery of nutritious and appealing meals to patients of Gove District Hospital (GDH). Working on a flexible roster. Key duties and responsibilities 1. Under the direction of the Food Services Manager /Head Chef, undertake duties relevant to the provision, service and distribution of meals to patients, including the delivery of patient’s meals to hospital wards. 2. Undertake light and heavy dishwashing and cleaning duties as required, maintaining a high standard of kitchen and equipment hygiene. 3. Communicate effectively and appropriately with clients and co-workers. 4. Ability to work on a rotating shift roster including weekends. 5. Follow defined service quality service quality standards, Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces. Selection criteria Essential 1. Demonstrated experience of working in a large industrial kitchen with the ability to undertake a range of duties, which will encompass the service and distribution of meals to patients whilst upholding a high degree of customer service. 2. The ability to undertake light and heavy dishwashing and cleaning duties in accordance with recognised WHS standards. 3. Physical ability to perform manual tasks including repetitive lifting and pushing throughout the working environment in accordance with the WHS and Manual Handling procedures. 4. Ability to work shift work including weekends and the willingness to undertake any training relevant to the requirements to the position. 5. Commitment to teamwork within a diverse cultural and multi-disciplinary environment, including the ability to interact with people from diverse cultures.
