Job Description

MSCI Index Sales Specialists are responsible for maintaining existing client relationships as well as new business development for MSCI products. The role entails leading the Singapore and ASEAN Sell Side Index Coverage team in educating, positioning and licensing MSCI’s global equity & fixed income index data to current clients as well as prospective clientele in the hedge fund and sell-side segments. The hedge fund and sell-side team is responsible for all index-related business opportunities within the segment, including data sales and distribution, IP rights and reporting licensing, customization and asset-based licensing. These capabilities are supported by our state-of-the-art index design and research, technical know-how as well as innovations. This role is a highly visible one, with involvement in all aspects of account management, including senior level relationship management, in-depth discussions regarding MSCI’s index methodology, commercial terms and contract negotiation, closing sales, and product setup and delivery. In this role, the team will work very closely with global sales, global client service, marketing, research and product management. Total relationship management involving: Team management responsibilities for the hedge fund and sell-side index team based in Singapore. This is a player-coach role where you will be responsible and accountable for the team results, and at the same time manage your own assigned accounts and P/L. Achieve forecasted revenue, renewal, and profitability targets. Nurture existing client relationships and prospect aggressively to establish new ones. As a strategic/key account manager, develop client specific and business specific plans & strategies. As a hedge fund and sell-side coverage expert to actively engage with local market participants and establish a network of contacts. Support regional sales leader on strategic market development. Collaborate with other sales groups to achieve cross-segment opportunities and synergies. Grow the regional ecosystem of MSCI indexes (equity and fixed income) via the expansion of user base and use cases, including the licensing of MSCI IP for client product research and development use-cases. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree required or equivalent experience; MBA, Master’s Degree and/or CFA charter holder strongly desired. 10 years of experience in the financial service industry in the sell side. Superior communication and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple detail-oriented projects. Strong sales closing skills. Strong analytical and quantitative skills. Ability to communicate effectively across the organization globally with colleagues across different functions. Strong sense of ownership and servicing mindset to ensure efficient and effective customer service processes. Strong understanding of financial markets and index derivatives markets including options and futures markets, flow and structured products, global exchange and product landscape, use cases and end users. Good understanding of index/ETF related trading strategies in APAC. Experience in flow or delta one sales trading across APAC. Good understanding of Investment banking businesses/ private banking products and hedge fund strategies in APAC as well as an well-established network within the sell-side community.
