Celebal Technologies - Senior Data Scientist - Machine Learning

About the Role : Were looking for a Senior Data Scientist with deep expertise in machine learning, time series forecasting, and deep learning to lead high-impact initiatives in the retail domain. This role will focus on building and scaling advanced ML solutions for supply chain optimization, demand forecasting, and customer lifetime value (CLV) prediction. Youll be driving critical analytics capabilities that fuel smarter planning, better inventory decisions, and more personalized customer Responsibilities : Machine Learning & Time Series Forecasting : - Design and deploy advanced ML models for multi-level demand forecasting across products, regions, and time horizons. - Apply and enhance time series models such as ARIMA, Prophet, Exponential Smoothing, and deep learning based approaches (e.g., RNNs, LSTMs, Temporal Fusion Transformers). - Incorporate exogenous factors (e.g., promotions, seasonality, macro trends) into forecasting models to improve predictive accuracy. - Build model pipelines for real-time and batch inference, with a focus on scalability and performance. Supply Chain Optimization : - Leverage ML and optimization techniques to improve inventory positioning, replenishment strategies, and logistics. - Identify patterns in supply chain data to proactively mitigate disruptions and inefficiencies. - Collaborate with operations and supply chain teams to embed intelligent models into planning tools and dashboards. Customer Analytics & CLV Modeling : - Develop and refine CLV models using behavioral, transactional, and marketing interaction data. - Use supervised and unsupervised learning to segment customers and predict retention/churn. - Partner with CRM and marketing teams to operationalize insights into targeting, offers, and customer journey strategies. Technical Leadership & Collaboration : - Mentor junior data scientists and provide technical guidance on model development, evaluation, and deployment. - Work cross-functionally with engineering, product, and business stakeholders to turn models into production-grade systems. - Communicate complex findings clearly to both technical and non-technical : - Masters or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Math, Operations Research, or a related field. - 5 years of experience developing machine learning models in a production environment, ideally within retail or ecommerce. - Strong hands-on expertise in time series forecasting, deep learning, and advanced ML techniques. - Proficient in Python (NumPy, pandas, scikit-learn, TensorFlow/PyTorch), SQL, and modern ML/AI toolkits. - Experience with cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and ML lifecycle tools (e.g., MLflow, Kubeflow, SageMaker). - Strong understanding of model evaluation techniques, feature engineering, and temporal data handling.
