SAP MM Consultant

Location : Electronic City, Bangalore Years of Experience : 3-6 Years Job Profile : As an SAP MM Consultant, you will be responsible for supporting, implementing, and optimizing the Materials Management (MM) module within our client's SAP environment, specifically tailored to their manufacturing processes. You will leverage your deep understanding of SAP MM functionalities and your experience in the manufacturing sector to ensure efficient procurement, inventory management, and material planning. Responsibilities : SAP MM Module Expertise : Possess a strong understanding of the SAP MM module functionalities, including but not limited to : - Procurement : Purchase Requisitions, Purchase Orders, RFQs, Quotations, Vendor Management, Pricing Procedures, Outline Agreements (Contracts, Scheduling Agreements). - Inventory Management : Goods Receipts, Goods Issues, Stock Transfers, Physical Inventory, Inventory Valuation, Batch Management, Serial Number Management. - Material Master : Creation and maintenance of material master data, understanding of different material types and their configurations. - Logistics Invoice Verification (LIV) : Processing and resolving invoice discrepancies. - Material Planning (MRP) : Understanding of MRP concepts, configuration, and execution. - Ability to configure and customize the SAP MM module to meet specific business requirements within the manufacturing context. - Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to SAP MM processes. SAP Rollout/Implementation Experience : - Mandatory experience in at least one full lifecycle SAP rollout or implementation project. - Active participation in various phases of the project lifecycle, including requirements gathering, blueprinting, configuration, testing, training, go-live, and post-go-live support. - Understanding of project methodologies and best practices for SAP implementations. Master Data Cleansing : - Proven experience in cleansing and migrating master data related to the SAP MM module (e.g., Material Master, Vendor Master, Purchasing Info Records). - Ability to analyze data quality, identify inconsistencies, and implement data cleansing strategies. - Experience with data migration tools and techniques. Manufacturing Domain Knowledge : - Strong understanding of business processes within the manufacturing domain, such as : - Production Planning and Execution integration with MM. - Bill of Materials (BOM) and Routings. - Warehouse Management basics (storage locations, stock movements). - Quality Management integration with procurement and goods receipt. - Understanding of different manufacturing types (e.g., make-to-stock, make-to-order). - Ability to map manufacturing business requirements to SAP MM and Communication : - Ability to effectively communicate with business users, understand their needs, and translate them into SAP solutions. - Collaborate with other SAP functional and technical teams to ensure seamless integration across modules. - Prepare functional specifications, test scripts, and user training documentation. - Participate in workshops and meetings with business stakeholders. Problem Solving and Analytical Skills : - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues within the SAP MM module. - Ability to analyze business processes and propose solutions for optimization using SAP MM functionalities. Testing and Documentation : - Participate in the development and execution of test scenarios and test cases. - Document configuration, processes, and training materials. Must-Have Skills : - Strong hands-on experience in the SAP MM module. - Proven experience in at least one SAP rollout/implementation project. - Demonstrated experience in cleansing of master data within the SAP MM context. - Must have experience working with clients in the manufacturing domain. - Good understanding of integration points between SAP MM and other modules (e.g., PP, SD, FI). - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Good-to-Have Skills : - Experience with SAP S/4HANA MM. - Knowledge of SAP MM related reporting tools (e.g., SAP BW, SAP Analytics Cloud). - Experience with EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) in the procurement process. - Familiarity with warehouse management processes and integration with SAP WM/EWM. - Exposure to SAP Solution Manager for project and change : - Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. - SAP certification in MM is a plus (ref:hirist.tech)
