Role : Desktop Administrator Experience : 7 years Location : Bangalore About the Job : We are seeking a highly experienced and proactive Desktop Administrator to join our dynamic IT team in Bangalore. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our end-user computing environment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, excellent troubleshooting skills, and a customer-centric approach to provide comprehensive desktop support to our employees. You will be responsible for managing and maintaining our endpoint devices, resolving technical issues, implementing security measures, and contributing to the overall improvement of our IT infrastructure. This role requires a self-starter with the ability to work independently, prioritize tasks effectively, and contribute to a collaborative team : Endpoint Device Management : - Install, configure, and maintain operating systems (Windows), software applications, and hardware components (desktops, laptops, peripherals) on end-user devices. - Manage and administer network servers and various technology tools to ensure optimal performance and availability for end-users. - Set up and configure new user accounts and workstations, ensuring proper access and security settings. - Monitor system performance, identify potential issues, and proactively implement preventative measures to maintain system stability and meet performance requirements. - Perform regular system upgrades with new software releases and hardware models, ensuring compatibility and minimal disruption to users. - Develop and maintain a comprehensive inventory of all IT desktops, components, and related equipment. Technical Support & Troubleshooting : - Respond promptly and professionally to client support requests via various channels (phone, email, ticketing system, in-person). - Diagnose and troubleshoot a wide range of software and hardware issues on end-user devices, providing timely and effective resolutions. - Provide comprehensive desktop systems and user support to ensure all users have the necessary computer capabilities to perform their tasks efficiently. - Offer hands and feet on-site local assistance as directed by Service Support for issues requiring physical intervention. - Perform hardware break/fix activities for end-user devices, coordinating with vendors when necessary. Security & Data Management : - Implement and maintain security measures on endpoint devices, including access controls, backups, and firewall configurations, to ensure data integrity and prevent unauthorized access. - Ensure regular backups of end-user data are performed and are restorable through the supported workstation backup mechanism. - Restore standard managed workstations and securely restore local data from the latest available backup when required. - Perform data erasure and data migration tasks as needed, adhering to security & Training : - Build and maintain an internal wiki or knowledge base with detailed technical documentation, manuals, and IT policies related to desktop support. - Develop expertise in new technologies and provide effective training to staff on their usage. - Develop and provide systems and software training to end-users to enhance their technical proficiency. - Maintain comprehensive documentation on all desktop processes and procedures. Deployment & Maintenance : - Deploy, implement, troubleshoot, and support the workforce environment, ensuring a seamless user experience. - Monitor the ongoing operation of the Windows environment and related desktop infrastructure. - Ensure that application and system updates are implemented in a timely and efficient manner. - Manage starters, leavers, and movers (SLM) processes, including account creation/deletion, workstation setup/reassignment, and access management. - Execute IMACD (Install, Move, Add, Change, Dispose) services for end-user devices. - Participate in managed deployment and refresh projects for end-user hardware and software. - Provide hands & eyes support for remote teams as required. ITSM & Collaboration : - As applicable, create, maintain, and update tickets accurately and efficiently within the ITSM system (ServiceNow). - Collaborate effectively with other IT teams and stakeholders to resolve complex issues and contribute to overall IT service improvement. Meeting Room Support (Specific Locations) : - Manage meeting room devices in the Centient locations in the Netherlands (NL) and Spain, leveraging smart hand support resources where available. This may include basic troubleshooting and coordination with local : - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. - Proven experience of 7 years in a Desktop Administration or similar role. - Extensive experience with Windows operating systems (Windows 10, Windows 11). - Strong knowledge of hardware troubleshooting and repair for desktops, laptops, and peripherals. - Proficiency in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting various software applications. - Experience with network fundamentals and basic server administration concepts. - Solid understanding of security best practices for endpoint devices. - Experience with backup and recovery procedures for workstations. - Familiarity with IT Service Management (ITSM) tools, preferably ServiceNow. - Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. - Strong communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. - Experience in creating technical documentation and training materials.
