BHTC GmbH - Senior Engineer - Jira Administration

Job Summary : The Senior Jira Engineer will play a critical role within the PMO, focusing on the administration, optimization, and support of our Atlassian Jira platform. This role requires a deep understanding of Jira's capabilities, combined with strong technical skills in scripting and automation. The Senior Jira Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that Jira effectively supports project management, workflow efficiency, and overall business operations. This includes customizing Jira to meet specific needs, integrating it with other systems, and providing technical guidance to Administration and Configuration : - Administer and maintain Atlassian Jira, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and security. - Customize Jira projects, workflows, issue types, fields, and screens to align with business processes. - Manage user access, permissions, and security schemes to control data access. - Install, configure, and maintain Jira add-ons, plugins, and extensions to enhance functionality. - Perform Jira upgrades, migrations, and system maintenance Scripting and Automation : - Develop and implement Jira workflows, scripts, and automations using Groovy, JavaScript, and JQL. - Utilize Jira REST APIs to integrate Jira with other applications and systems. - Automate routine tasks and processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort. - Create and maintain custom scripts and event listeners to extend Jira Management Support : - Collaborate with project managers to understand their needs and configure Jira to support project workflows. - Design and implement Jira solutions for various project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.) - Develop and maintain Jira dashboards and reports to track project progress and key metrics. - Provide guidance and support to project teams on how to effectively use and Standards : - Ensure Jira configurations and processes comply with relevant standards and frameworks (e.g., ASPICE, Automotive SPICE). - Implement and maintain audit trails and logging to track changes and ensure accountability. - Adhere to PMO standards, best practices, and methodologies in all Jira-related Leadership and Collaboration : - Serve as a subject matter expert on Jira, providing technical guidance and support to users. - Troubleshoot and resolve complex Jira issues, working with Atlassian support as needed. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams (developers, QA, etc.) to integrate Jira with other systems. - Contribute to the development and improvement of PMO processes, templates, and tools. - Provide training and documentation to users on Jira functionality and best Requirements : Education : of Experience : 5 to 7 years - Minimum 3 years of experience in Atlassian Jira administration. - Proficiency in Groovy, JavaScript, Java, and JQL for Jira scripting and automation. - Familiarity with project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Confluence). - Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with team members and stakeholders. - Basic knowledge of agile frameworks, with practical experience in Scrum and Kanban. - Strong English communication skills for global training and Skills : - Atlassian Certified Jira Administrator. - Experience with Jira Data Center. - Knowledge of ITIL processes. - Experience with other Atlassian products (e.g., Confluence, Bitbucket). - Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools (ref:hirist.tech)
