Senior Network Engineer - Routing & Switching

Job Title : Senior Network Engineer Experience : 8-15 Years Location : Bangalore Job Summary : We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Engineer with 8-15 years of experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Routing, Switching, and Wireless, with hands-on expertise in Cisco and HPE Aruba networking devices. This role requires deep technical proficiency in network design, implementation, troubleshooting, and management of enterprise-level wired and wireless infrastructure. Key Responsibilities : Design, implement, configure, and troubleshoot enterprise routing and switching protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) across Cisco and HPE Aruba routers and switches. Manage and support Layer 2 technologies including VLANs, STP, Trunking, and stacking. Implement, configure, and troubleshoot wireless infrastructures for enterprise, retail, or manufacturing environments using HPE Aruba WAPs or Cisco Meraki. Administer and maintain firewalls and load balancers as part of enterprise network security. Oversee passive network cabling and physical installation of networking devices. Perform firmware upgrades, patch updates, and lifecycle management of network devices. Utilize Aruba Central for managing wired and wireless devices (preferred). Design and implement IP addressing schema and subnetting strategies. Create and maintain network documentation using tools like Visio, Lucidchart, or Draw.io. Provide technical guidance to teams and stakeholders, ensuring alignment with industry best practices. Work independently and collaboratively within a team environment. Ensure adherence to ITIL processes including Incident, Change, and Problem Management. Participate in on-call support for critical network issues, and be available for scheduled maintenance activities during weekends or off-hours. Required Skills & in Cisco and HPE Aruba networking devices (routers, switches, wireless access points). Strong understanding of Layer 2 & Layer 3 networking protocols. Hands-on experience with enterprise routing and switching protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP). Expertise in wireless infrastructure management using Aruba WAPs or Cisco Meraki. Experience with firewalls and load balancers. Proficiency in network design tools (Visio, Lucidchart, Draw.io). Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) to engage with clients and stakeholders. Flexibility to work in shifts, weekends, and on-call support as required.
