Senior Test Engineer - Merchant Processing & VisionPLUS Testing

Job Title : Senior Test Engineer - Merchant Processing & Vision Plus Testing Experience : 6 - 9 years Job Overview : We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Test Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of end-to-end merchant processing, with a strong emphasis on testing related to merchant onboarding, commission, pricing, settlement, scheme settlement, transaction processing, and reconciliation. A key aspect of this role involves validating and reconciling Mastercard and Visa settlement files. Experience with Vision Plus testing, including Omnipay and payment gateways, is a significant advantage. The Senior Test Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and accuracy of our payment processing systems. Responsibilities : End-to-End Merchant Processing Testing : - Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for end-to-end merchant processing workflows. - Test merchant onboarding processes, ensuring seamless and accurate setup of new merchants. - Validate merchant commission calculations, pricing configurations, and fee structures. - Perform thorough testing of merchant settlement processes, including payment disbursement and reconciliation. - Test scheme settlement processes, ensuring compliance with card network rules. - Oversee testing of transaction processing, authorization, clearing, and settlement. - Conduct rigorous testing of reconciliation processes to identify and resolve discrepancies. Mastercard and Visa Settlement File Validation : - Develop and execute test strategies for validating Mastercard and Visa settlement files. - Perform detailed reconciliation of settlement data to ensure accuracy and completeness. - Identify and document any discrepancies or errors in settlement files. - Work with relevant teams to resolve settlement-related issues. Vision Plus Testing (Preferred) : - Conduct functional and integration testing of Vision Plus systems. - Test Omnipay functionalities, including transaction routing and processing. - Validate payment gateway integrations and related functionalities. Test Planning and Execution : - Develop detailed test plans, test scenarios, and test cases based on business requirements and system specifications. - Execute test cases manually and/or using automated testing tools. - Document test results, track defects, and provide regular test status reports. Quality Assurance Best Practices : - Adhere to established QA processes and methodologies. - Identify and recommend improvements to testing processes and tools. - Participate in code reviews and provide feedback on testability. Collaboration : - Work closely with developers, business analysts, project managers, and other stakeholders. - Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences. Skills and Qualifications : - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. - 6-9 years of experience in software testing, with a focus on financial systems and payment processing. - Strong experience in end-to-end merchant processing, including : 1. Merchant onboarding 2. Merchant commission 3. Pricing 4. Merchant settlement and processing 5. Scheme settlement 6. Transaction processing 7. Reconciliation - Proven experience in validating and reconciling Mastercard and Visa settlement files. - Experience with Vision Plus testing, including Omnipay and payment gateways, is highly desirable. - Solid understanding of payment industry standards and regulations. - Experience with various testing methodologies (e., Agile, Waterfall). - Proficiency in test management tools (e., Jira, TestRail) and defect tracking systems. - Strong SQL skills for database testing and data validation. - Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to quality. Preferred Skills : - Experience with test automation tools (e., Selenium, Cucumber, Postman). - Knowledge of performance testing and security testing. - Experience with scripting languages (e., Python, Java). - Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines. - ISTQB certification (ref:hirist.tech)
