Project Manager - Data Governance

Role Overview : Our esteemed client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Manager to lead and drive Data Governance initiatives. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, executing, and monitoring Data Governance projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements. A key aspect of this role involves leveraging your understanding of SAP systems to implement and manage data governance frameworks effectively within the SAP environment. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and technical experts to establish and maintain data quality, integrity, and : Project Management : - Lead and manage the entire project lifecycle for Data Governance initiatives, from initiation to closure. - Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, and resource requirements. - Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets. - Monitor project progress, identify potential risks and issues, and implement mitigation strategies. - Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. - Effectively communicate project status, risks, and dependencies to stakeholders at all levels. - Manage project teams, including assigning tasks, providing guidance, and fostering collaboration. - Utilize project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) as appropriate for the project. Data Governance : - Contribute to the development and implementation of data governance frameworks, policies, and procedures. - Work with stakeholders to define data ownership, roles, and responsibilities. - Facilitate the establishment and maintenance of data quality standards and metrics. - Oversee data lineage and data cataloging efforts. - Support data privacy and security initiatives. - Monitor compliance with data governance policies and procedures. - Identify opportunities for process improvements within the data governance framework. SAP Exposure : - Leverage understanding of SAP modules and data structures (e.g., Master Data, Transactional Data) to implement data governance strategies within the SAP environment. - Collaborate with SAP technical teams to ensure data governance requirements are integrated into SAP systems. - Participate in projects involving SAP data migration, data cleansing, and data integration. - Understand the impact of data governance on SAP functionalities and reporting. - Contribute to the definition and enforcement of data standards within SAP. Collaboration and Communication : - Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including IT, business units, and compliance. - Exchange suggestions and ideas openly to achieve project goals. - Build and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders at various levels. - Present project updates and data governance concepts clearly and concisely. - Facilitate meetings and workshops to gather requirements and drive consensus. Required Skills and Experience : Total Experience : 3-10 years. - Project Management Experience : Proven experience in managing projects, preferably within a data-centric environment. - Data Governance Experience : Solid understanding of data governance principles, methodologies, and best practices. Experience in implementing or managing data governance initiatives is highly desirable. - SAP Exposure : Demonstrated understanding of SAP systems and data structures. Experience working on projects involving SAP data is a significant advantage. - Data Management (Preferred) : Experience in areas such as Data Quality, Data Integration, Data Warehousing, or Master Data Management is a plus. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills. - Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. - Strong organizational and time management skills. - Proficiency in project management tools and software. - Willingness to travel to Electronic City (Bangalore) and work on-site five days a week, with occasional remote work.
