Warehouse Receiving Forklift Stower Needed

Job Description Job Description We are seeking experienced Receiving Forklift Stower to provide support to our warehouse operations. The ideal candidate must have a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills and proven experience in overseeing the receiving function. This is a full time position, 40 hours per week, Monday- Friday hours vary from: 7a - 7pm (with occasional Saturdays). Job Responsibilities Establish and follow company procedures for trackability of inventory from receipt to put away/storage. Work closely with receiving supervisor and inventory control lead to ensure product is accurately located within systems. Maintain organization and cleanliness of pallet racking storage; Rotate items as needed for safety and easy access. Move obsolete skids to safe location as soon as possible; Remove and break down boxes and containers as needed. Assist in the loading and unloading of trucks and determine safe ways of stacking/sorting on the receiving floor Check all product against packing slip for accurate product and quantities; Inspect product/boxes for damage and/or defects; Immediately report and relocate any defective items. Document and sign receiving notices following inspection. Manage space arrangements for incoming shipments in staging areas and pallet rack storage. Organize new product and packaging to ensure safety of shipments; Store obsolete packaging in a safe location; Remove and Break down boxes as needed. Routinely performs quality inspections of products to ensure front line team members are correctly receiving product and preparing for skid and pallet racking. Pass Forklift Certification; Follow all Forklift safety protocol including daily machine checklist, using caution when driving near pedestrians, perform maintenance as needed, and report any issues with equipment to manager immediately. Responsible for ensuring team follow safety precautions - monthly safety focuses - and retraining as needed: Safety belt, Safety Gloves, use and knowledge of MSDS sheets, protective eyewear, correct use of step ladder and handcarts; Aware of equipment lockout mechanisms; Employee may only use forklift if properly trained and certified. Additional duties may be assigned by manager. Required Skills High school diploma or equivalent Minimum 3 or more years using forklift to organize safe storage of inventory on pallet racking. Requires good written and verbal English communication skills. Spanish a plus! Requires legible handwriting skills both alphabetical and numeric. Good mathematical skills; Good deductive reasoning. Good organizational skills; Able to build a plan and execute. Attention to detail; Able to follow written instructions; Good record keeping skills. Team player; ability to work closely with medium size team establishing and executing daily goals. Essential Functions Must be able to sit, stand and walk for up to 2 hours at a time. Requires the ability to walk up and down step stool/ladder to count inventory. Medium physical work on a daily basis. Including bending, stooping, reaching, pulling, grasping. May be exposed to high and low temperature fluctuations. (50 degrees to 100 degrees) Must be able to read fine print on manufacturer labels including alpha/numeric characters 1/8 of an inch in size. Occasionally lift weight up to 50 pounds. Requires data entry using a computer keyboard, scanner, and/or mouse. Must be able to stand for extended period or walk throughout the warehouse on a daily basis Ability to change priorities when needed. Warehouse environment with occasional exposure to dust and loud noises.
