Job Summary: We are seeking a highly experienced and dedicated ex-serviceman from the Indian Customs Department to join our team as a Senior Investigator. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of customs regulations, import/export compliance, and practical experience in identifying and curbing illegal trade, including counterfeit goods. This role is critical in protecting brand integrity and ensuring regulatory adherence across the supply chain. Key Responsibilities: Lead field investigations into counterfeit products, with a focus on supply chain vulnerabilities and retail distribution networks. Collaborate with law enforcement, customs officials, and private sector stakeholders to gather intelligence and conduct joint raids where applicable. Monitor import/export activities for compliance with customs laws, duties, excise regulations, and product classifications. Analyze documentation (Bills of Entry, Invoices, Packing Lists, etc.) for red flags and report discrepancies. Provide training and awareness programs to internal staff and external vendors on customs and anti-counterfeit protocols. Support litigation and enforcement actions by preparing reports, case files, and expert testimony as required. Liaise with port authorities, bonded warehouses, and logistics operators to ensure secure handling of goods. Qualifications: Retired/Ex-Officer from Indian Customs & Central Excise Department or Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI). Minimum 5 years of experience in customs operations, investigations, or enforcement roles. In-depth understanding of Customs Act, Excise Act, NDPS Act, and other relevant legislation. Strong investigative skills and knowledge of counterfeit detection techniques. Experience in coordinating with law enforcement and legal entities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to travel as required for investigations and audits. Preferred Attributes: Previous work on smuggling or counterfeiting cases. Familiarity with FMCG, tobacco, pharma, or luxury goods industries. Background in intelligence gathering or surveillance operations. Ability to work independently with a high degree of integrity and confidentiality.
