Job Description

Job Title: Senior Manager – Modern Trade, Q-Commerce & E-Commerce Department: Sales & Business Development – FMCG (Food Division) Location: Kochi or Bangalore Experience Required: 10 Years Reporting To: CEO - Sales Key Responsibilities: Strategic Channel Planning – Develop and implement growth strategies for Modern Trade (MT), Quick Commerce (Q-Commerce), and E-Commerce channels aligned with the company’s business goals. Channel Setup & Business Scaling – Scale up the business in Q-Commerce and E-Commerce by building the channels from scratch, identifying the right platform partnerships, driving onboarding, and ensuring seamless end-to-end operational execution. MT Account Management – Manage key MT national and regional accounts (Reliance, DMart, Spencer, More Retail, Biz Bazaar, Star Baza, Metro Cash & Carry, Walmart India, Spar Hydpermarket, Nature’s Basket and Amazom Fresh); lead JBP (Joint Business Planning), annual agreements, activation planning, and new product placements. Revenue & Profitability Growth – Own the P&L of all three channels with a strong focus on revenue acceleration, cost optimization, and sustainable growth. Category & Portfolio Strategy – Drive differentiated product and portfolio strategy for each channel based on platform/customer insights and category trends. Operational Excellence – Ensure seamless execution of sales, inventory, order processing, and supply chain coordination with internal teams and partners. E-Commerce Platform Management – Manage relationships with key players (e.g., Amazon, Flipkart, BigBasket, Blinkit, Instamart, Zepto, etc.) and D2C if applicable. Promotions & Visibility – Drive impactful visibility campaigns, promotional calendars, and digital interventions across all online and modern trade platforms. Data Analysis & Channel Insights – Analyze performance data, consumer behavior, and competitor activity to refine strategies and improve ROI. Team Leadership & Collaboration – Lead a cross-functional team of Key Account Managers, Ecomm Ops, and Analysts; coordinate closely with Marketing, SCM, Finance, and IT teams. Key Requirements: Proven experience in scaling Q-Commerce and E-Commerce business models from inception in the FMCG industry (preferably food). Deep understanding of MT/JBP processes , E-commerce algorithms , digital marketing , and last-mile delivery models . Strong commercial acumen, negotiation skills, and strategic mindset. Excellent stakeholder management, leadership skills, and execution rigor. Exposure to tools like Amazon Brand Analytics , Flipkart dashboards , E-comm CMS panels , etc., is a plus.
