Job Description

You will work in the finance team as COST ACCOUNTANT. This role will report to the continuous improvements department. You will support operations by providing information that will aid decision-making and drive profitability, operational efficiency and effective cost control. You will also identify and drive system improvement opportunities and ensure strong controls are in place. Qualification and Skills: CIMA At least 2 years of cost accounting experience Experience working within a manufacturing environment to your advantage but not necessary Exposure to import and export component in previous roles to your advantage Computer software proficiency - SYSPRO Exposure to standard costing and job costing Experience in implementing a costing "system" You will be analytically strong and have problem-solving ability. Good attention to detail and strong organisational skills. As the Cost Accountant, you will be able to work under pressure and to meet deadlines. This is a fast-paced environment and subject to constant change. As a team player, you will have the ability to drive projects and implementations within a team. Responsibilities: Import labour and overhead allocation per job Review and closure of jobs, investigating variances and driving corrective actions Review and update standard cost for raw materials in the accounting system to ensure inventory valuation is accurate including landed cost calculations for imported raw materials Review standard cost variances and purchase pric variances Perform product costings per customer Implement a costing system with value-adding reports and recommendations Review and monitor labour and overhead allocations to products Analyse material usage and waste and drive corrective actions Review inventory count results for approval Review the accuracy of inventory-related transactions and assist with queries Ensure strong inventory controls are in place to safeguard inventory and drive accuracy Analyse margin and costs and identify where improvements can be made to profitability Building and maintaining reports to assist product mix decision-making Performing financial modelling to inform decision-making for strategic objectives Preparing information and reports for business presentations Assist with compiling annual budgets and rolling forecasts Providing systems support to users and maintaining master data Identify and drive system improvements and assist with special projects Prepare SOP documentation and provide training to staff on systems implemented If you are interested in applying for this dynamic position at a stable secure organisation we would like to hear from you.
