Key Responsibilities Independently complete small- to medium-sized features and defects Participate in team planning activities Able to triage simple issues independently, and more complex issues with some assistance Participate in technical design and review of features, with guidance Consistently follow best practices and guidelines Help to mentor new team members Know how to prioritize your own work Understand the business supported by your applications Proactively communicate status and issues to their manager Propose ideas within the team to increase effectiveness through automation Focused learning to attain expertise in one or more technical areas Show a commitment to delivery deadlines, in particular seasonal and vendor partner deadlines that are critical to Best Buys continued success Basic Qualifications 2 years of relevant professional experience with a bachelors or associate degree, OR equivalent. Including: 2 years of development experience in backend development, including some of the following technologies: Java, Apache Solr, Spring: Webflux, MVC, NoSQL Databases: Cassandra, DocumentDB/MongoDb, BigTable, Kafka, Google Pubsub, RabbitMQ, Relational Databases: Oracle, BigQuery, Postgres, Apache Beam, Reactor, GraphQL, Redis, Memcached, Docker, GitHub Actions 2 years of using agile planning principles with Agile or similar iterative approach for estimating, planning, retrospectives, etc. Ability to build and optimize web applications and platforms in a cloud environment Ability to work in a close-knit environment with other engineers and product managers Excellent communication skills, especially when working with a distributed team Ability to triage and manage complex, production issues Preferred Knowledge of and working experience with open-source software as well as networks, security, firewalls, load balancers, DNS, and other infrastructure components About Best Buy Best Buy India is a vibrant hub of tech talent, where we're driving innovation and accelerated business outcomes for Best Buy, our customers, employees and partners every day.
