Want to help shape national and global policy on finance and national security? Interested in learning more about a career in public service? Come intern with us at the U.S. Department of the Treasury. Treasury's Departmental Offices (headquarters) seeks enthusiastic, dedicated students for its dynamic and substantive internship program. ALL STUDENTS MUST BE ABLE TO INTERN BETWEEN September 2nd and December 20th 2024 for a minimum of 20 Hours a week.

Treasury seeks students from a broad range of fields and studies that include, but are not limited to: Social Sciences (Economics, Political Science, Public Policy, International Affairs, International Development, History, American Studies) Management/Law (Business Management, Public Administration, Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, Marketing, Communications/Journalism, Legal Studies/Law) STEM (Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Mathematics/Statistics) Students can work in one of many offices which make up Treasury Departmental Offices (headquarters). Departmental Offices is a collection of divisions that are primarily responsible for policy formulation and overall management of the Treasury Department. As part of the application process, you will be asked to apply to up to three offices described on Treasury's website https://home.treasury.gov/about/offices. Opportunities to contribute in these offices are far-reaching and depend on mission need and student interest.

Job Requirements

We are looking for students who possess a genuine desire to learn about government and public policy. They must also possess basic understanding and skills to perform a variety of tasks relating to activities in the areas of finance, federal regulation, domestic and international economic issues, legal and policy guidance, congressional relations, management/operations, or Information Technology/Information Systems (IT/IS). Additionally, preference will be given to students who possess the following qualities: Perform well in a team environment, Strong written and oral communication skills, Excellent interpersonal skills, with an ability to tackle a variety of assignments simultaneously and meet rigorous schedules and tight deadlines, Attention to detail, and Working knowledge of computer applications such as Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.
