Integration Engineer - HL7

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: - Lead the technical implementation of HIE (Health Information Exchange) and system interfaces using Mirth tool and support customer facing applications. - Lead the design and implementation Health Information Exchange data integration - Facilitate and lead detailed HL7 and FHIR interface mapping discussions with new & existing customers, and third party system vendors - Collaborate with system analysts and interface engineers within the customer's IT organization. - Provide customer support and technical issue resolution relating to system interfaces. - Work collaboratively with architecture team to ensure that the proposed solution is aligned with system architecture direction - Develop in agile development methodology including user stories, continuous integration and test driven development - Translate Business Requirements and/or Functional Specifications into technical solutions and develops technical design specifications - Demonstrate superb communication and human relationship skills. - Provide recommendations for improvements in processes. - Perform all other duties as assigned. Requirements - Bachelor's or equivalent degrees are strongly preferred. - 5 years of technical customer service experience and interaction with healthcare IT vendors and hospital IT staff on technical issues. - 5 years of HL7 interface analysis, development, troubleshooting, and maintenance. - Experience with NextGen Connect (formerly known as Mirth Connect) for building interfaces with HL7 V2.6 (traditional version) and 3.x (xml based version) and FHIR. - Experience with LIS (Laboratory Information System) applications, hospital and/or Pathology/Oncology systems such as EPIC, Cerner, MetaTech, Orchard Soft, SunQuest, and Soft Computer. - Good experience in onboarding new customers and maintenance of large-scale customers with multiple workflow configurations. - Expertise building real-time, interfaces for ADT, ORM, ORU, DFT, SIU, transaction types. - Experience working on and configuring message transfer protocols including TCP/IP, FTP, SFTP, Web Services (SOAP) etc. - Good understanding of LAN's, WAN's, VPN's and Network data communications - Proficient in performing Unit testing, System testing, Integrated testing, Regression testing and assisting with UAT - Experience with the change management process for implementation of interfaces (ref:hirist.tech)
