Roles & Responsibilities : - AWS certification : Possessing AWS certifications eg AWS Certified Solutions Architect AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Demonstrates expertise and proficiency in AWS technologies and AWS Best Practices Jira and Confluence - Jira proficiency : Squad members should be proficient in using Jira for managing tasks tracking progress and facilitating collaboration within the team - Confluence proficiency : Familiarity with Confluence is essential for creating and maintaining project documentation capturing meeting notes sharing knowledge and facilitating communication among team members optional - Knowledge of Agile methodologies eg Scrum Kanban and how they are implemented in Jira is beneficial for managing sprints backlogs and Agile ceremonies effectively Role Overview : The Application Portfolio Discovery Consultant specializing in Migration Strategy is responsible for leading the assessment and analysis of an organizations application portfolio to define a comprehensive migration strategy This role involves identifying suitable migration paths recommending target cloud environments and developing a roadmap for migrating applications and workloads to the AWS cloud while ensuring alignment with business objectives technical requirements and industry AWS Best Practices Key Responsibilities : Application Portfolio Assessment : - Conduct a thorough analysis of the organizations application portfolio to inventory and categorize applications based on factors such as business criticality technical complexity dependencies and strategic importance - Collaborate with stakeholders to gather information on application functionalities architecture data dependencies usage patterns and performance requirements Migration Strategy Development : - Define a migration strategy tailored to the organizations goals considering factors such as cost optimization performance improvement scalability security and regulatory compliance - Evaluate various migration options including rehosting lift and shift replatforming refactoring repurchasing or retiring applications and recommend the most appropriate approach for each application based on its characteristics and business needs - Develop migration patterns and strategies for different application types such as web applications legacy systems databases and middleware Target Environment Selection : - Determine the most suitable target environment for each application based on factors such as compatibility feature availability performance and cost - Define architectural principles design patterns and reference architectures for deploying applications in the AWS cloud ensuring adherence to cloudnative AWS Best Practices and standards Roadmap Planning : - Develop a detailed migration roadmap outlining the sequence of migration activities milestones dependencies and timelines for migrating applications to the AWS cloud - Work closely with project managers architects application managers business and other stakeholders to integrate the migration roadmap with overall project plans ensuring alignment with project objectives and resource constraints Risk Assessment and Mitigation : - Identify potential risks and challenges associated with the migration strategy such as data migration complexities application compatibility issues performance bottlenecks and security vulnerabilities - Develop mitigation strategies and contingency plans to address identified risks and ensure smooth execution of migration activities with minimal disruption to business operations - Customer specifics Customer users LeanIX as CMDB.
