Job Description

Cost Accountant Area: Epping, Cape Town Salary: R35000 to R50000 depending on experience and qualifications RESPONSIBILITIES: Build and improve costing templates documents, and records of the organization. Analyze and report on financial performance against budget, highlighting variances and identifying trends. Assess actual manufacturing costs and prepare periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs. Review standard and actual costs for inaccuracies and report on margins by product and division. Assist in the formulation of budgetary and accounting policies. Coordinate physical inventory counts and cycle counts. Investigate cycle counting variances and resolve issues. Update standard costs in the bill of materials. Review and analyze inventory and margin reports, conduct research, and perform analytical studies in regards to cost analyses and profitability. Support and assist internal department reporting requirements such as audit schedules, tax schedules, and others. Ensure timely submission, accuracy, and validity of inventory, gross margin schedules to management. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 3-5 years of experience in cost accounting or related field. Proficiency in accounting software and Excel. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Attention to detail and ability to multi-task. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Experience in manufacturing and importing costings preferable Preference will be given to AA applicants
