Software Tester - ETL/Datawarehouse Testing

Position Overview : As a Software Tester, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products, with a focus on ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to analyze requirements, design test scenarios, and execute test cases to identify and resolve any anomalies in the data processing pipeline. Key Responsibilities : - ETL Testing : Utilize your experience in ETL testing to validate large volume data processing, ensuring accuracy and integrity across all stages of the data pipeline. - Requirement Analysis : Analyze requirement documents, mapping documents, and data models to understand transformation rules and identify any discrepancies or mismatches. - Test Scenario Development : Develop a comprehensive set of test scenarios covering all transformations of source data, ensuring thorough coverage of business requirements. - SQL Querying : Prepare complex SQL queries to validate intricate transformations, ensuring data consistency and correctness. - Unix Commands : Utilize your knowledge and hands-on experience with Unix commands to facilitate testing processes and data validation tasks. - Anomaly Identification : Execute test cases for multiple iterations to identify anomalies between millions of source data records and target data, ensuring all discrepancies are resolved. - Automation : While not mandatory, experience with automation tools and frameworks is considered an advantage and may be utilized to streamline testing processes. Required Skills and Qualifications : - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. - 4-6 years of experience in software testing, with a focus on ETL testing and data validation. - Strong understanding of database concepts and proficiency in SQL querying for data validation. - Experience with Unix commands and shell scripting for data processing tasks. - Ability to analyze complex requirement documents and data models to develop comprehensive test scenarios. - Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to identify and resolve anomalies in large datasets. - Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. - Familiarity with automation tools and frameworks is considered an advantage.
