EY - Azure ETL Engineer - Data Warehousing

Azure ETL Engineer/ Data Warehouse Engineer: Position Description: The Azure ETL Engineer will perform hands-on ETL/ELT pipeline development to support a long-term initiative to migrate and transform an existing on-premises Data Management and Analytics solution to Azure. The Azure ETL Engineer will work under the direction of a Team Lead BI Architect to develop ETL/ELT pipelines. The Azure ETL Engineer is expected to maintain a client focus and execute job responsibilities that include, but are not limited to: - Using their knowledge and experience to provide Technical Consulting services focused on designing, and building cloud-based data warehouse data pipelines using SSIS and Azure Data Factory (ADF) - Analyzing business needs, documenting requirements and translating needs into functional, non-functional and/or technical specifications. - Analyzing supplied data files, applications, database and SSIS packages to create data maps and other documentation used in the redesign and development of ETL pipelines to support the cloud migration - Developing and testing SSIS packages, ADF pipelines and other T-SQL code as needed to implement a modern Data Warehouse solution in Azure - Ensuring a focus on information/data quality by following existing enterprise data standards and developing new ones as needed. - Creating technical documentation for data management, cloud services, data assets, and analytic systems. - Developing test cases/documents and performing testing as needed of ETL pipelines and reports/dashboards. - Ensuring all services are delivered following best practices and in alignment with technical designs and client expectations. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE : - MUST HAVE- At least of 1 year of Azure experience developing solutions using ADF (Azure Data Factory Pipelines) - MUST HAVE- Minimum of 3 of SQL Server experience developing SSIS packages, stored procedures and other SQL Server assets using T-SQL. SKILLS & TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS : - Experience conducting data analysis and using SQL to navigate through SQL Server tables to research, test and analyze data. - Ability to analyze and document processes and data flows. Must have experience creating data maps to support ETL development. - Familiarity with DevOps principles and techniques including CI/CD and Agile (Kanban/Scrum) Delivery of Data Solutions. - Ability to clearly communicate ideas and solutions. - Familiarity with project management including estimation and risk management. - Working knowledge of the SDLC and IT Operations. - Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. - Strong client focus and customer service skills.
