Job Description

Job Summary: The Logistics Zone Controller plays a critical role in overseeing and optimizing logistical operations within a designated geographical area or zone. This role involves managing the flow of goods, ensuring timely delivery, minimizing costs, and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction. The Logistics Zone Controller is responsible for coordinating various aspects of the supply chain, including transportation, inventory management, warehousing, and distribution. Requirements: Relevant tertiary qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum 2 years of experience in logistics, transportation, warehousing, or supply chain management, with a proven track record of success in a leadership role. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data sets and make data-driven decisions. Proficiency in logistics management software and systems, including WMS, TMS, and ERP systems. Strong leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing logistics team. Knowledge of regulatory requirements and best practices in logistics and supply chain management. Responsibilities: Optimize transportation routes, distribution networks, and inventory levels to minimize costs while maximizing efficiency and service quality. Implement inventory tracking systems and conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy and prevent stock discrepancies. Coordinate transportation activities, including carrier selection, route planning, and freight management, to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods. Monitor transportation performance metrics such as on-time delivery, transportation costs, and carrier performance, and implement corrective actions as needed. Optimize load consolidation and mode selection to maximize transportation efficiency and reduce environmental impact. Analyze data and trends to identify areas for improvement and develop actionable insights to drive operational excellence. Prepare regular reports and presentations on logistics performance, operational efficiency, and cost savings initiatives for management review.
