Our client is currently seeking a National Parts Manager for their automotive brands who will work closely with the Aftersales and Parts team to ensure the daily effectiveness of the overall Aftersales Parts department. The candidate will thus, be a key member of the automotive brands in ensuring that key outputs are delivered effectively and efficiently. To the successful in this role, the National Parts Manager will be responsible for all the automotive parts, in ensuring that not only dealers receive parts timeously, but also ensuring that the parts warehouse is stocked as per operational requirements. The candidate will be based at the Parts Warehouse and will focus on all vehicle parts to ensure dealers are effectively and efficiently assisted. Ultimately, the candidate will ensure that their area of responsibility meets and exceeds the expectations of our business objectives and contributes to the company's success in the long run. Responsibilities: Forecasting parts needs and ordering parts to maintain optimal inventory levels. Forecasts goals and objectives for the department and strives to meet them. Purchase order processing - The parts manager will be responsible for Ordering parts from factory and ensuring deliveries are made to dealers in the shortest times possible. Source and secure accessories for OEM of the highest quality and reasonable costs. Trace shipping of orders. Helping field service personnel upon request. Meet monthly sales targets. Ensure maximum first pick rate and first fil rates. Ensure dealers accounts are always up to standard. Ensure payments for suppliers are processed timeously. Hires, trains, motivates and monitors the performance of all parts department staff. Prepares and administers an annual operating budget for the parts department. Establishes pricing parameters that generate enough gross profit to produce a satisfactory profit while maintaining customer loyalty. Establishes individual parts inventory levels and balances them for maximum turnover. Stock level control - Performing inventory controls and keeping quality standards high for audits. Also ensure minimum obsolesce. Supervises stock order procedures. Sets and enforces a policy on the ordering of parts. Analyses sales, expenses and inventory monthly to maintain profit goals. Ensures that the same high-quality level of service provided to outside customers is also provided to internal dealership customers. Attends managers meetings. Holds weekly department meetings. Analyses departmental operations and storage layout and revises as needed for maximum effectiveness. Directs shipping and receiving efforts to ensure timely processing. Develops sales promotions and campaigns. Handles customer complains immediately and according to the Brands guidelines. Ensures that all dealership purchases are properly accounted for. Maintains professional appearance. Monthly reports to Aftersales Manager of monthly sales targets, profits, losses, stock levels, stock orders/procurement, accessories. Other duties as assigned. Clear understanding of imports and exports and related procedures. Able do pricing calculations and do competitor analysis to ensure completeness of parts pricings and achieving maximum GP margins. Dealer performance analysis monthly. Additional ad hoc responsibilities as requested by Senior Management. Requirements: Matric Bachelor's Degree in a related field would be advantageous. 3-5 years' experience in a similar role. OEM experience in a similar role is advantageous. Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills MS Office - proficiency in Excel is essential. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Be able to work under pressure.
