Industrial Engineer/Business Analyst - Junior

With the Head Office based in Cape Town Northern Suburbs, this newly created position has become available as a result of our succession planning initiatives in our IT department. We wish to recruit two candidates for this position to be mentored into senior Business Analyst positions. The position entails the support of Capespan South Africa's global fruit division businesses support/implementation of its ERP and peripheral software solotions through a structured process. Develop solutions using Microsoft SQL and Microsoft 365 tools like PowerBI, Power Apps,Power Flow and Sharepoint online. Required key skills (functional): Responsible for the support of global business systems; work on solutions supporting multiple business areas, Good understanding of the SDLC or similar process Demonstrated experience writing and reviewing business, user and non-functional/system level requirements. Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ideally demonstrate an entrepreneurial, self-motivated inclination, willing to challenge the status-quo. Defines the success criteria for solution testing Analyse and decompose relevant business processes Performing business analysis and process improvement within assigned solution project Demonstrate a high level of attention to detail. Aid solution delivery on systems implementation and training. Assist (when necessary) with systems testing Ensure that proposed test solutions cover all aspects of delivered business specification Lead | participate in IT governance forums such as CAB (Change Approval Board), process reviews Required Education: A BSc/BCom/BTech IT/ Information Systems/ Computer Science Degree, IIBA Accredited Diploma in Business Analysis OR demonstrable solid practical experience is essential Business/process analysis experience in business systems support will be advantageous Knowledge and experience supporting ERP systems will be advantageous Business Writing Skills; Presentation and Facilitation Skills will be advantageous ITIL knowledge will be advantageous Required Competencies: Self-starter with a desire to learn Excellent communication skills; able to present findings in an understandable form, writing or speaking clearly while communicating complex ideas to people across functions and cultures. Experience in MS SQL Server query writing essential Experience with Microsoft PowerBI, Microsoft PowerApps, Power Flow, SharePoint will be advantageous Experience with Microsoft NAV (Business Central) & fruit export system used in South Africa will be advantageous Data Modelling knowledge will be advantageous Ability to demonstrate analytical and detailed approach in problem solving essential Customer service orientated with business acumen; conflict management and negotiations skills are important tools of the job. Team player with ability to learn fast take on increased responsibilities Ability to develop solid business partnerships with internal colleagues locally & globally Fluent in English with any other language being an asset Willing and able to work after-hours from time-to-time
