Computer Aided Design Drafter

We are seeking a skilled Draftsman/Draughtsman to join a great team at a leading Superyacht shipyard in the Mediterranean.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to transform concept drawings and architectural plans into detailed and layout plans for superyacht refit projects.
• Assist in the creation of functional and precise drawings by utilising computer-aided design tools such as AutoCAD and Rhino.
• Create technical plans based on observations and field measurements, intended for large superyacht refits.
• Use technical expertise to calculate and dimension components, providing information on constraints such as material, structural, and weight limitations.
• Help establish construction methods to ensure efficient and high-quality production processes.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory rules (Class) and uphold stringent quality standards prevalent in the superyacht industry.
• Maintain professionalism and timeliness in all tasks to meet project deadlines.
• Adapt to changing project requirements and deadlines within the dynamic environment of superyacht construction.
• Work effectively as a team player, demonstrating exceptional interpersonal skills and a strong sense of customer service.
• Manage stress and prioritise tasks effectively in the fast-paced and demanding superyacht shipyard environment.

Requirements:

• 4 to 5 years of successful experience in a similar position, preferably in the yachting industry.
• Training in Industrial Design.
• Very good command of AutoCAD, Rhino, (2D/3D drawing) or equivalent software.
• Experience in shipbuilding, particularly in the superyacht sector.
• Good knowledge of mathematics relevant to superyacht design and construction.
• Professional proficiency in English.
• Rigorous, organised, and methodical approach to work, with exceptional reliability in handling important data and meeting deadlines.
• Great adaptability to evolving project requirements and deadlines.
• Strong team spirit, interpersonal skills, and a dedication to providing excellent customer service.
• Mastery of stress management techniques and ability to effectively manage priorities in a high-pressure environment.
