Job Description
Key Responsibilities: Warehouse & Inventory Operations: Oversee all warehouse activities including receiving, put-away, storage, order picking, packing, dispatch, and returns. Ensure accurate and efficient stock control, including regular cycle counts, reconciliations, and reporting. Manage space utilisation and layout planning to optimise warehouse capacity and workflow. Oversee any local rework, repackaging, or ticketing required to meet customer-specific requirements. Ensure the warehouse is adequately resourced and equipped in line with receipt and dispatch cycles. Process Optimisation & Systems: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance warehouse productivity, accuracy, and cost efficiency. Identify and implement opportunities to streamline operational processes and interfaces with other departments (e.g., Shipping, Customer Service, Merchandising). Contribute to and support systems implementation projects, ensuring operational requirements are defined, tested, and adopted effectively. Use data and analytics to track operational performance, identify trends, and recommend improvements. Logistics & Distribution: Coordinate the planning and execution of dispatch schedules in line with customer delivery timelines. Work closely with shipping and transport providers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery to customer distribution centres. Resolve logistics or supply disruptions proactively to minimise customer impact. People Leadership: Lead, coach, and develop the warehouse team to ensure high performance, accountability, and engagement. Establish and monitor clear KPIs and performance standards for warehouse operations. Promote a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement. Compliance, Safety & Governance: Ensure full compliance with health and safety standards, OHS requirements, and internal operating procedures. Maintain accurate documentation and records for audits, compliance, and reporting purposes. Implement best practices for safe material handling, storage, and workplace organisation. Requirements: Minimum 710 years experience in supply chain, warehousing, or logistics operations, with at least 3 years in a leadership role. Proven experience managing warehouse operations in an import/distribution environment (homewares, consumer goods, or similar). Demonstrated involvement in system implementation or process automation projects. Strong understanding of inventory management systems (ERP/WMS). Excellent problem-solving, planning, and organisational skills. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to influence across teams.
