Job Description
Senior Manager, Event Logistics Department: Tournament and Venue Operations Location: Brazil Description FIFA27 will be established as the Local FIFA Subsidiary in Brazil, to work together with FIFA HQ in Zurich and globally, to deliver the biggest women’s sporting event in the world, the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027™ ("FWWC2027"). Key Responsibilities Overall responsibility for the management, coordination and leadership of the Logistics team and sub‑projects. International freight forwarding, including the international movement and customs clearance of goods into and out of the host country. Conception and implementation of simplified customs procedures together with involved government authorities to ensure smooth importation and exportation of goods for all tournament stakeholders. Central warehousing, including asset tracking within the warehouse and across all venues where assets are provided by Logistics. Material planning, including the gathering of Furniture, Fixture and Equipment (FFE) requirements from all functional areas, working with Procurement in sourcing and delivery. Domestic distribution of FFE, FIFA assets, uniforms and other commodities; movements of team luggage and equipment to/from hotels, airports, stadiums and training sites and between host cities. Managing the entry of delivery and collection vehicles into venues during the tournament period via the Master Delivery Schedule System (MDS). Providing Venue Logistics Services, including unloading services, determining storage space requirements of Logistics and other functional areas, distribution of items inside venues, and provision of FFE. Where required, development of IT solutions for Master Delivery Schedule (MDS), Material Planning tool, Venue Delivery Portal (VDP), and Logistics Customer Relationship Management tool (LCRM). Procurement and management of golf‑cart pool at venues. Development of a dissolution strategy in cooperation with tournament management, legal, procurement and all item‑procurement functional areas. Evaluation of the local logistics market and contracting a Logistics Service Provider (LSP) to provide warehousing, trucking and people resources as required. Managing established contracts (LSP, FFE‑ and golf‑cart provider) and ensuring all project milestones, deadlines and KPIs are met. Providing the Logistics Concept of Operations and other project integration‑management documentation such as Functional Area Operational Plan (FAOP) and Standard Operational Plan (SOP) as required. Attending site/venue visits, workshops, logistics activities, meetings and events where an Event Logistics presence is required (e.g., Team Workshop, Broadcaster Meetings, Partnership Workshops). Creating and managing the Event Logistics budget in cooperation with FIFA Zurich Event Logistics. Creating and managing the Event Logistics project plan, including mitigation and communication of risks and issues in cooperation with FIFA Zurich Event Logistics. Recruiting the Logistics team and providing leadership to the team. Preparing and managing a health‑and‑safety plan. Preparing and managing a sustainability and environmental plan related to the Event Logistics Project. Providing timelines and accurate reporting to FIFA Zurich Event Logistics and Senior Management. Completing the final reconciliation, closing contracts and transferring knowledge post‑tournaments. Your Profile Minimum of 15 years of experience in Major Event Logistics or event operations for an international event. Knowledge of event logistics planning and project management processes. Team player, willing to work to tight timelines. Strong analysis, reporting and data skills. Able to work in a fast‑paced, multi‑level, project‑based event environment with emphasis on timelines and delivery. Positive attitude, patience and persistence. Proven track record in managing complex projects, preferably international sports events. Right to work in Brazil. Fluent in English (spoken and written). Fluent in Portuguese (spoken and written).
