Information Systems Security Officer with Security Clearance

Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) Location: Clearwater, FL (On-site) SCIS is seeking a skilled Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) to support our Department of Defense (DoD) Collateral programs. In this vital role, you’ll provide on-site system administration and end-user support while ensuring compliance with the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency Assessment and Authorization Process Manual (DAAPM) and NIST SP 800-53 standards. You’ll work closely with Information System Security Managers (ISSM) and Facility Security Officers (FSO) to maintain the highest levels of system integrity and security. Key Responsibilities: Oversee daily operational security for information systems, including monitoring for vulnerabilities and responding to security incidents. Assist in developing and implementing security policies and procedures to safeguard classified information Conduct routine security assessments and audits to ensure compliance and effectiveness of controls Provide technical guidance and support to users on security procedures and incident response Investigate and document security incidents, providing recommendations for corrective action Lead employee training on cybersecurity awareness and best practices Maintain detailed logs and records of all security events and responses for accountability and reporting Required Qualifications: US citizenship required Active Secret clearance Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field DoD 8140 IAT Level II–compliant (CompTIA Security required within 6 months of hire). Minimum 3 years of IT system administration experience Experience with network administration, security tools (e.g., ACAS, STIGs, Splunk, SCC), and system hardening Proficiency in configuring and managing secure Windows environments Must be able to work 100% onsite in Clearwater, FL Preferred Qualifications: Secret Security Clearance (Active Top Secret clearance preferred) Microsoft Azure certification Prior experience working with DAAPM and NIST SP 800-53 standards or in a defense contracting environment Advanced administration of Windows 10/11 and Windows Server 2016/2022 Familiarity with virtualization platforms such as VMware What We Offer: At SCIS, we’re committed to providing an environment where your skills can flourish, and you can make a significant impact.
