Job Description

Position Challenges (Chemical Hazardous Substances Specialist) As the legally responsible chemical professional you will lead the planning, supervision and monitoring of all chemical-related activities. Work collaboratively with the team to analyze, develop and monitor plans and goals. Monitor Environmental activities in coordination with the Environmental team. Perform routine activities with an advanced level of complexity and make decisions in consensus with the manager. You’ll ensure the safe and efficient operation of chemical equipment and processes, while maintaining strict compliance with internal procedures and external regulations. This role demands technical depth, leadership, and a proactive mindset to drive continuous improvement and uphold LG’s global standards. Responsibilities Oversee chemical product usage, equipment operation, and process integrity Conduct audits, risk assessments and compliance checks aligned with LG and legal requirements Manage procurement, inventory and budgeting for chemical-related operations Prepare technical documentation, reports and presentations using Excel and PowerPoint Coordinate preventive, corrective and predictive maintenance of chemical systems Train outsourced teams and supervise the chemical impacts on: utilization, safety risks, licenses and all aspects related to products. Interface with internal departments and external service providers to ensure high-quality execution and safety environments. Have a strong knowledge about chemical products handling (leakage preventions, countermeasures, action plans, hard stop situations, etc.). Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering Desirable: Postgraduate studies in Industrial Chemical Management or Safety Engineering Solid experience in industrial chemical processes Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, FMEA, SWOT Familiarity with Federal Police procedures (SIPROQUIM2), ANP and NR-20/23/26 regulations Active CREA or CRQ registration Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills Ability to lead, train, and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams Advanced English (will be tested during the interview).
