Sebnini are recruiting for a Head of Design within the home fragrance sector. The ideal candidate will have 10 years’ experience in designing for the retail sector, management experience and implementation of a project management system. This is a pivotal role for someone who thrives on innovation, brings a sharp commercial eye, and who can translate creative ideas into market-leading products that resonate with consumers. You’ll drive forward a culture of excellence, creativity, and collaboration within the team. The right candidate will be someone with a graphic design background and management experience, looking to take the next step in their career. Working in a successful and well-established family-run business, you will run a team who produce concepts across ranges for a number of leading retailers nationally and globally, tailored to our specific clients. An interest in homewares and interior trends will be particularly beneficial for this role. Responsibilities will include: • Scheduling and prioritising design work and allocating tasks effectively within the design team using a project management system, overseeing the workflow of multiple design projects to ensure deadlines are met • Oversee and manage feedback, ensuring amends are implemented efficiently • Scheduling and prioritising production artwork when necessary • Understand and anticipate the requirements of workflows across the business to ensure the Design team are resourced adequately • Anticipate potential project challenges and proactively find solutions to maintain seamless execution • Ensure designs align with retailers' brand guidelines, working closely with internal teams to secure approval and sign-off • Liaise with compliance team to maintain awareness of compliance and regulatory standards • Briefing and manage external freelancers when additional support is required • Liaise with buying and sales teams within the company • Keep abreast of trends and innovation within the industry, organising team comp shops and visiting trade shows to develop and produce quarterly trend decks. • Collaborating with the NPD manager to develop new ideas and writing briefs for the design team • Client presentation planning and building • Art direction for marketing projects such as website and photoshoots • Conduct regular one-to-one reviews and annual appraisals; coaching, developing, and motivating the design team to drive performance and creativity • Manage and inspire the design team, supporting through any challenges, and fostering a solutions- driven approach • Overseeing the recruitment process • Concept and product design/visuals when necessary • Produce print ready production artwork and final artwork checking when necessary Skills & requirements: • Experience managing a design team within a creative environment • An inspirational and motivating mentor and manager who is personable and approachable • Outstanding communication skills• Strong experience within the world of product, graphic & packaging design, ideally across homeware, beauty or gifting • Highly creative and commercial with a keen eye for trend • Strong project management skills, with excellent organisational and time management abilities • Experience in implementing a project management system would be advantageous • A proactive problem-solver who anticipates challenges and delivers solutions • Thrives in a fast-paced role and environment • Excellence in Adobe Suite
