Job Description

As a Junior Maintenance Engineer, you will contribute to projects involving highly automated distribution and fulfillment technologies within the parcel, distribution, and logistics sectors. Our installed base of material handling equipment is rapidly expanding and includes sortation and transportation systems, AS/RS (Autostore, mini-loads, etc.), Robotics, AGVs, AMRs, and intelligent warehouse software. The asset management team is growing, and we are looking for curious, proactive individuals who are eager to learn and contribute to developing new processes and standards. Role You will support the setup and improvement of maintenance management practices, lifecycle plans, and continuous improvement initiatives that bridge our engineering departments, service teams, and customer sites. You will work from our offices with ocational trips to the sites. Key responsibilities include: Support project teams and customers with foundational maintenance management activities for FORTNA-integrated assets. Contribute to the development and documentation of maintenance metrics, collecting and analyzing data to monitor performance. Assist in the implementation and testing of maintenance management software together with suppliers and software teams. Collaborate with senior maintenance engineers to assess machine components and controls, and help develop Preventive Maintenance (PM) Plans using FMECA. Support the creation of customer-specific lifecycle plans for FORTNA systems and assets. Participate in process standardization efforts within the maintenance engineering team to develop clear methodologies and practices. Do you recognize yourself? In addition, you are: Curious and detail-oriented Solution-driven and pragmatic when needed Calm under pressure and proactive in your work Open to learning from and supporting others What do you bring A completed Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or a related engineering field 1 to 3 years of professional experience in the engineering field, combined with relevant internships or academic projects—preferably in maintenance, reliability, or asset management—or strong academic exposure and a keen interest in these topics. Good communication skills and a proactive mindset when working with different stakeholders Curiosity about data and a basic understanding of data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI, etc.) Familiarity with or interest in learning about maintenance management systems (e.g., IBM Maximo) and concepts such as FMECA, RCM, or TCO Fluent English communication (spoken and written); Dutch or German is a plus What can you expect from us Our organization is flat and growing globally, so not everything is set in stone—and we expect you to thrive on that!
