Description Summary: Performs a variety of imaging procedures and is responsible for patient safety protocols. Functions as the first line interface with customers in the successful accomplishment of their imaging needs. Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary. • Determines most suitable anatomical posture and positions and shields patients accordingly. Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s). • Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate. Able to assess patient pain interfering with imaging procedure; makes appropriate physician contact for intervention. • Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results. Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure. • Enters, out-patient orders, sends images to PACS and transmits images to Radiologist for interpretation. • Assists in orientation and training of new staff/students as necessary. • Keeps current with principles and practices, regulations, and standards that apply to healthcare. • Performs other reasonably related job duties as assigned or requested, within scope of practice. Non-Essential Functions: • Ensures supplies are adequately stocked and organized. • Ensures equipment is operating safely and correctly. • Responsible for minor housekeeping, maintaining department/facility cleanliness and safety, as needed. Qualifications Qualifications: Education: Associate of Radiologic Technology, required Bachelor of Radiologic Technology, preferred Required Licenses: Must have a current Mississippi Radiologic Technologist License Required Certifications: • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained within 6 months of hire. • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire or transfer.
