SEN Teaching Assistant About the role Are you a passionate and experienced SEN teaching assistant ready to make a difference this September? Teach Now is recruiting for a dedicated SEN TA to join a thriving, 2-form entry primary school in Redbridge, set in an affluent area with fantastic facilities and ample parking. About the school This large and welcoming community primary school is a place where staff, governors, parents, and children all work in harmony to ensure every child feels supported and valued. The school grounds include age-appropriate play areas and beautiful green spaces, making it an ideal setting for young learners to grow, explore, and thrive. With a recent intake of Reception children with new EHCPs, the school is strengthening its SEN team and seeking a proactive, caring individual who can hit the ground running. Key responsibilities You will be working with Reception-aged children (4–5 years) who are just beginning their school journey. Many of the children have varying special educational needs, including verbal and non-verbal autism, and some may require personal care. Your responsibilities will include: • Providing tailored 1:1 and group support based on individual EHCPs • Encouraging development in communication, play, and social skills • Assisting in smooth transitions into classroom routines • Collaborating closely with SENCOs, class teachers, and external specialists • Creating a nurturing, safe, and structured environment for learning What we’re looking for • Experience in supporting children with a range of SEN, especially ASD • Confidence working with non-verbal children and supporting personal care needs • A flexible, patient, and understanding approach to early transitions • A commitment to fostering inclusive, child-centred learning environments Why this school? • A supportive, collaborative school community • A beautiful and well-resourced learning environment • Onsite parking and excellent public transport links • The opportunity to have a lasting impact on children at a critical stage of development Why work via Teach Now?
