Job Description
Our client is seeking a proactive and technically skilled Section Engineer to deliver essential site engineering services across multiple civil infrastructure projects. The role involves setting out and controlling works to technical specifications and programme requirements, with a focus on safety, quality, and technical excellence. Operating within a high-performing regional team, the Section Engineer will take responsibility for establishing accurate site controls, managing technical challenges, and ensuring defect-free delivery aligned with project and compliance standards. Key Responsibilities Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance Actively promote and uphold health & safety standards across all site operations. Ensure full adherence to internal procedures and statutory regulations. Maintain a safety-first culture and support environmental best practices in all on-site activities. Ensure delivery is completed safely and sustainably.Quality Assurance Drive a right-first-time culture and defect-free delivery. Implement internal quality systems and ensure compliance with ITPs and QA records. Identify and support value engineering and efficiency improvements.Engineering & Delivery Set out and control works in line with contract drawings and project specifications. Establish and maintain survey control and benchmarks. Regularly check and record work to ensure technical compliance. Lead the production of daily diaries, allocation sheets, and two-week lookaheads in collaboration with site management. Liaise with procurement to maintain supply continuity and appropriate resource levels. Prepare ITPs, Task Briefings, and ensure technical issues are addressed through timely RFIs. Performance Metrics Precision in setting out and survey control Zero-defect handovers and complete QA documentation Accurate, up-to-date site records and registers Timely resolution of technical and on-site challenges Key Relationships Site Agents and Project Managers Engineering and operational workforce Clients and technical representatives Supply chain and subcontractors Candidate Profile Essential Criteria Previous experience in a similar site engineering role within civil engineering Demonstrated experience in deep drainage and trenchless technologies Competence in managing temporary works and familiarity with associated procedures Knowledge of construction methodologies, safety legislation, and technical standards Proficiency with robotic total station / EDM instruments Degree or HNC (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering CSCS & SMSTS certification Temporary Works Supervisor/Coordinator accreditation Strong interpersonal, communication and planning skills Able to manage technical documentation, RFIs and information controlsDesirable Attributes Working knowledge of AutoCAD, MS Office MEICA experience or understanding Service detection and cable avoidance experience Confined space certification (Medium Risk) NRSWA Supervisor Appointed Person for Lifting Operations First Aid, NEBOSH or IOSH certified Temporary Works Coordination experience Why Join My Client?
